Andhra Cements Limited, incorporated on 9th day of December 1936 under the Indian Companies Act 1913, and had since then experienced several Changes till date with respect to the Promoters and Management.

Earlier, the Management of the Company transferred from the then promoters i.e. M/s Bennett Coleman Co. Ltd. (BDCL) to M/s Duncan Agro Industries Ltd., its known as Duncan Industries Ltd. (DIL) and under the Management Control of Shri G.P. Goenka (Duncan Goenka Group) who had acquired the Company in the year 1994 from BIFR.

In the Year 2012 Jaypee Group has acquired about 60% shareholding of the Company and taken over the Management control with effect from February, 2012 by JAYPEE GROUP.

Later, due to financial and operational crises the Cement Production activity was stopped and both the Units were shut-down since February 2020 to March, 2023 and all the Production and other Operations were at halt during this period.

The Financial Creditors of the Company filed an Insolvency petition with NCLT under IBC in the month of April 2022. Finally, as per the Hon’ble NCLT, Amaravati Bench vide Order dated 16-02-2023, the Resolution Plan submitted by SAGAR CEMENTS LIMITED (SCL) has been approved. As per the approved Resolution Plan SCL infused Rs. 322.25 Crores for acquiring 95% Shareholding of the Company (Post Capital Reduction). Consequent to this SCL taken over the Management control of the Company in March, 2023. Now, ANDHRA CEMENTS LIMITED is a part of “SAGAR GROUP” and subsidiary of SAGAR CEMENTS LIMITED.

Business Details:

Andhra Cements Limited is having 2 manufacturing Plants situated at “Durga Cement Works” (DCW) Dachepalli, Palnadu District, (AP) and also at “Visakha Cement Works”(VCW) Visakhapatnam, (AP). The Companies main Clinker Plant was situated at Durgapuram, Dachepalli, Palnadu District (AP). This Plant is situated at 180 km from Hyderabad on the National High way from Hyderabad to Chennai. This plant having two Cement grinding Machines, both OPC and PPC Grade Cements are manufacturing. Abundant lime stone availability in the Mines as to enable to produce quality Clinker and Cement on this line.

Location of the Plants:

DCW Plant - Located at near Dachepalli (6 Kms) in Palnadu District, (AP). 8 Kms from Nadikudi Rly Station. Plant is located very near to the Mines of the Company.

VCW Plant- Located at 13 Kms from Visakhapatnam city on NH –5 and is 2 Kms away from Simhachalam north Railway Station on Calcutta – Chennai Railway line. Distance from Plant to Visakhapatnam Port is 15 kms.

Transport Connectivity:

Both DCW Plant & VCW Plant are being well connected with Rail, Road and Sea transportation facility to all destinations of neighboring States.

Marketing:

Our Product brand is ‘SAGAR CEMENT’. Andhra Cements Ltd has its mother plant i.e. the clinkerisation unit at DCW Plant, Dachepalli in Palnadu District (AP). OPC and PPC produced from this plant. About 70% of the quantities are sold within the state of AP and Telangana and the balance quantity goes to the neighboring states of Tamilnadu and Karnataka.

The Location of the Plant gives us the advantage of being able to send Cement to all Regions of the AP and Telangana. We operate with about 770 authorised stockists across the AP and Telangana States in reaching material to the Consumers apart from Government and big Projects, which are dealt directly. In the States of Orissa, Tamilnadu and Karnataka, we operate thru Direct Sale and Contract Sale.
